If you haven’t heard about the Bettie Page Official Pleasure Products Collection then where have you been?! The collection was launched in October 2013 and has been quite popular since its release. It’s not really hard to see why; it’s a beautifully crafted collection in which luxury just seems to ooze from every part of it.
Owning the Bettie Page Picture This Spanking Bat, I was hooked. And I will admit it is now a collection that I want. It makes me feel like its Bondage Pokémon ‘Got to catch them all’ and I do; I want them all. I just wish all I had to do was traipse around in some long grass armed with several Poke balls to obtain them.
I’m very excited to be adding the Bettie Page Bad Girl Blackout Blindfold to my collection. I’ll be a bad girl on a regular basis if I get to wear this little beauty; but let’s keep that our little secret shall we? The OH has a nasty habit of holding out on me if he knows I want it.
Much like The Spanking Bat in the series, the Blackout Blindfold radiates class as soon as you lay your eyes upon the packaging.
It comes in a black box, with an outer cardboard sleeve. The cardboard sleeve has a small circled picture of Miss Page and displays her name and also ‘BAD GIRL Blackout Blindfold’.
When removing the cardboard sleeve the box itself is a black plain box with silver writing displaying ‘Bettie Page’. That is the only information that’s on the inner box and I liked that; it meant that the item without the cardboard sleeve could be left out in plain view and it doesn’t give any ideas away as to what’s in the box to any prying eyes. Not that I’d be embarrassed to display this to anyone wanting to pry!
On opening the box you’re greeted with such an elegant piece. The blindfold is folded neatly on a velvet feel back, also a small key ring chain displaying a picture of Bettie Page, and a small biography card. The inside of the top of the box displays several Polaroid-style black and white Bettie Page pictures in a collage form.
This exquisite blindfold is fashioned to give a Retro 1950’s style. It has a wired eye mask which is quilted in faux leather in a criss-cross design at the front, with a silky smooth satin back for added comfort. The tethers are made from satin and are extra-long it can be tied easily, tightly and should fit all adult head seizes. The satin also has ‘Betty Page’ embroidered into it. The whole blindfold has a length of 54inches from tip to tip.
Never in my life have I thought that I’d be so excited to get a blindfold, I mean it’s just a blindfold right?!
Everything about this item is stunning; it looks amazing and feels amazing. It isn’t uncomfortable to wear in the slightest and you know what; I feel sexy wearing it.
Because the tethers are so long they’re easy to tie around the head, I don’t think there’s a head size that this wouldn’t fit!
The mask itself has a wire around the edging of it which means it contours to your face. Just simply place it over your eyes, tie the satin tethers as tight as you need them; and then mould the edge of the mask around your face and nose.
You do have to tie it quite tightly to get total blackout; however even tight it is still very comfortable!
I suffer a lot from migraines and during an episode a few days back I decided to use this instead of putting the blanket over my head as I usually do. Well it didn’t bother me at all whilst it was on, and I actually managed to fall asleep wearing it and woke up several hours later with it still in place.
This was fantastic for me as usually if I put a blindfold on after an hour or two it feels uncomfortable and when I take it off parts of my head can sometimes hurt where the material has dug in. I didn’t feel that at all with this, it just seemed to mould to my face and the satin felt silky smooth over my ears.
My only maybe issue is that if the wire is constantly molded and straightened I wonder if it would break. I say maybe issue as it hasn’t happened to me, and doesn’t feel like it’s going to at the moment, but I do wonder if there is the possibility of this somewhere down the line.
I love this blindfold, everything about it is so luxurious and it feels amazing to wear. I’d have no problem recommending this to anyone.
