Fifty Shades of Grey – Red Room Collection – Riding Crop
March 9, 2015
The tantalising aroma of leather hit me the instant that I removed this crop from the canvas bag it was supplied in, instantly turning me on. moving the tip across my body, the smooth leather seemingly caressed my skin and sent shivers up and down my spine. I couldn’t wait to wield this and have it used on me!
The moment I saw the advertisements for the Red Room collection, I had to have it; I actually want the whole set, but that’s an unrealistic dream, but out of the collection I wanted the Riding Crop the most.
The pictures looked amazing, I’ve never really seen something brown and instantly thought ‘I have to have it’ until the moment I saw this. The pictures didn’t really do it justice, as it looks so much better in person. The crop is made from beautiful soft brown leather; with a tinted gold band separating the step from the folded leather tip.
The handle has a length of 5.5 inches, and looks amazing, with the brown leather creating a criss-crossed design over it; this criss-crossing goes all the way up the stem and stops at the golden band right before the tip. The length of the handle is perfect, giving you ample room to really grip it and keep a firm hold, attached to handle is a folded leather strap; essentially this is to on your hand whilst the crop is in use, though I personally never use the straps for this purpose, I find them annoying and they just get in the way; the strap for me is only ever used to hang it up afterwards.
The length of the stem is 16 inches and is extremely flexible. this is a great thing for me, as I love the sting of a riding crop, and the flex in the stem really helps with this. When used softly, you can hear a slight whoosh as it’s brought down against you; but if you put some force in to it, then the whoosh is incredibly loud (And slightly terrifying when you’re blindfolded and tied up! The anticipation of the inevitable stinging whack is intense). You can really control the sting that is received with this, depending on the force used behind it, from slight teasing taps, to stings that make my arse red and welt.
The tip is made from folded leather, it has a length of 4 inches, and a width of 1.6 inches. Embossed on the tip is ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, if you’re not a fan of FSOG, it’s only embossed on one side and it’s not hugely noticeable. The leather is so soft, it feels amazing; it has the ability to tease you, as it’s glided across the skin. The aroma of leather, and the feel of it gliding across me, it wasn’t long before I was practically begging to have this brought down against my arse as I couldn’t wait to feel the sting on it.
I have been on both ends of this crop, wielding it and receiving it, on both occasions I’ve had a fantastic time, the weight of the crop is perfect for me, it makes it so easy to manoeuvre. When used it can produce such an amazing whacking noise, which for me is a serious turn on, almost as much as the sting that you simultaneously feel. If you’re wanting this to leave a mark, then I’ve found that you really need to put some force behind it, the sting is biting, and you get a glorious welt.
All in all I am a huge fan of this crop, I love everything about it; the colour is beautiful, the design of it really makes it look luxurious, it’s made from leather; which both feels and smells breathtaking, but it’s £80, and honestly, I think that’s a lot of money for what it is; I feel that this is mostly for the branding, as you can buy other riding crops that are of the same quality for less money. If you’re a huge fan of the series then this is perfect for you, but if you’re not then I’d probably buy something else.
I’m not a HUGE fan of the books, I don’t need the merchandise, but I actually do want the entire collection because of how beautiful it is, and you can’t just have one piece of it! It all needs to match! I do hope I’m able to get more of this collection, I don’t care that it’s expensive! It’s just gorgeous.
