Aghhh, it’s a sword. Kind of. Not really, it’s a glass dildo in the shape of a sword; a small sword but a sword, nether the less. This is the newest addition to my glass dildo collection and the latest Glassvibrations dildo too.
Glassvibrations go all out with the packaging on their glass dildos. I’ve always loved their products. The packaging consists of a white thick cardboard box, it has a window and locks with a magnetic clasp. The window on the front is perfect: it lets you see the glass toy, which is beautifully presented on a white satin pillow. Another thing I love about Glassvibrations dildos is that they come with a storage bag! YES! I have no idea why all glass dildos don’t come with them – due to the material I really think storage bags should be supplied with each and every one – however, this doesn’t seem to be the done thing. But, it is the done thing with Glassvibrations, so I’ll settle with that. For now…
Glass is generally my go-to toy material for international stimulation. I have been moving a lot to silicone recently but glass is and will remain my first love. There’s just so many great things about it that make it perfect. The ability to use it for temperature play, that it’s hypoallergenic, and pretty damn simple to clean. For more information about this and the lubricants you can use, check out my Why Glass? guide.
I’m not going to lie, I was initially disappointed with my Sword dildo. It looked a lot smaller than I thought it would be, smaller girth-wise that is. Although I’d seen a picture of it online, I just expected it to have a little more in the circumference department. It’s bad of me and I really should stop doing it. I hadn’t even got this dildo out of the box yet and I was already judging it. I know size doesn’t matter, I’ve been proven wrong on countless occasions in regards to this when I’ve judged a toy thinking I won’t like it due to the size. Don’t get me wrong, I feel my thought process has evolved. I didn’t think, ‘This is never going to do anything for me,’ like I have before. I did think, ‘Meh, it’s a lot smaller than I thought it would be,’ so in that aspect, I’ve grown.
The sword has a total length of 10.5 inches and it’s double ended. You can also use the hilt, which is smaller in length than the ‘blade/shaft’ but is slightly girthier. It has an insertable length of 4.5 inches and a girth of 4.1 inches at its widest point. The shaft has an insertable length of 5.2 inches and a girth of 2.6. Inbetween the two ends, you have the hand guard, a small part that separates the hilt from the blade or, in this instance, the handle from the shaft. The hand guard has a total length of 3.6 inches, with 1.6 inches on either side, and each end is slightly curved. The sword dildo is green. It does look different colours depending on the light source – when lying down on something it almost looks black – but when held up in the natural light it has a deep green colour.
As I said, the sword is double sided. Though it is the case that you can either go for girth or length, sadly both isn’t a valid option (unless of course you switch out the sides – then it’s completely valid). The shaft ‘blade’ is textured; it is ribbed throughout its entirety. Some people who are sensitive to texture may find this an issue, however, I really couldn’t feel the texture at all due to the girth not being… well, wider.
The handle/hilt has a baubled texture to it, reminding me somewhat of anal beads. I imagine that this dildo would be perfect for anal use, giving users more room to maneuver as well as the ability to progress through sizes.
In use (vaginally), the dildo feels pretty amazing. As mentioned earlier, I’m not really able to feel the texture on the shaft unless I concentrate REALLY hard on it. I don’t know about you but, for me, concentrating while fucking myself isn’t a thing I’m particularly keen on. As such, I prefer to use the girthier end – both ends feel pretty damn good, but I much prefer the fuller feeling I get when using the hilt end.
There are some pros and cons on the sides that you use. If you use the shaft, you have the length – but not the girth. What I found pretty great when using the shaft internally, is when the ‘hand guard’ is positioned right, the tip hits my clitoris perfectly. I tend to rock dildos back and fourth as well as thrust them, so it rubbed my clitoris whilst massaging me internally, thus providing some pretty great orgasms. So, on that stand, you can get the two for one. Using the handle gives you the fuller feeling but not the larger length, and due to the way the hand guard is tilted, I’m not always able to get this to fit my clitoris – it’s certainly not as easy as it is using it the other way.
Although the Sword felt pretty damn good, there are some things that I wish were different. The main problem I have with it simply comes down to this: I’d really like it if the shaft had more girth. Yes, it felt good internally but it could have felt tons better. Using it, I craved the fuller feeling I get from other, more girthier toys. I also wish there were different colours or, at least, that this was coloured differently. I’d really like to see it resembling a sword a little more, maybe with the ‘hilt/handle’ being a different colour from the ‘blade/shaft’
All in this, I actually really like the Sword dildo. I have my niggles with it, but it’s really well made and durable. It’s essentially two dildos in one and, as it’s a Glassvibrations dildo, you know you’re getting good quality.
