I recently received the Icicles No. 28 to review from Pipedream Products – if you’ve read my blog before then you know how much I love glass dildos, especially those from the Icicles range; so thank you Pipedream Products for sending this dildo to me.
The Packaging & General Information:
I’ve reviewed so many dildos from the Icicles range that I don’t really think I need to talk about the packaging again. It’s the same packaging throughout the Icicles, Ceramix and Pure Aluminium ranges. As with all glass items you can use any lubricants, and cleaning your dildo is extremely easy – practically effortless. For all information on cleaning and maintaining glass dildos check out my Why Glass? page. This will also give information on using glass toys for temperature play.
How it looks:
The Icicles 28 actually looks really lovely; it has a ribbed curved shaft which is ideal for G-spot stimulation, the ribs are quite pronounced so are great for people who really love textured dildo. I generally don’t like pink dildos, I guess I’m not really a girly girl but this is a nice shade of pink; it’s not in your face, so I actually quite like it. Due to the flared base this dildo would be great to use for anal play and it could possibly be used with a harness (I haven’t tried it with either!)
The dildo has an overall length of 7 inches, with an insertable length of 6.7 inches. The shaft has a girth of 4.75 inches and the base has a circumference of 6.3 inches.
I’m in two minds about this dildo, I on the one hand really like it; but on the other hand it can be a pain, both literally and metaphorically.
I’ve found that with this dildo I have to use a lot of lubrication, one of the reasons I like glass toys is that I don’t have to faff about with lube, but with this toy I do have to use it; and quite a lot of it to make it pleasurable. I firstly tried this dildo without lube and OUCH, the ribbed shaft has a really uncomfortable and painful sensation that I became almost scared to thrust it. I then removed it and put some lubrication on it, that time it felt more pleasurable but still slightly uncomfortable; when I used it with a lot of lubrication it felt great, thankfully the flared base comes in handy as a handle as glass and lubrication is extremely slippery.
Whilst in use I’ve found that hard fast thrusts are a no go, as it can be quite painful when used that way, however slower thrusts do feel fantastic, the ribbed surface massages you from the inside whilst the curved shaft angles itself towards your G-spot – paired with a clitoral vibrator and you can experience some intense orgasms.
If you don’t like texture on a dildo, or only like a small amount of texture on one then I wouldn’t recommend this item to you, however those of you who do like a more textured dildo then this dildo would make a great addition to your toy box.
