Initially when I found out that I was being sent this product I was excited, it’s glass that has the ability to vibrate if I so desire it to do so. I thought I would love it; tragically that just wasn’t the case.
This dildo is perfect for G-spot stimulation with its slender curved shaft; however the vibrating aspect is an absolute nightmare. It takes three AAA batteries, personally I’m not too keen on batteries; I think sex toys should be rechargeable – but Oh well – this thing takes batteries I’ll supply it with batteries. I opened my box that I keep all my batteries in and pulled out three AAAs and put them in the battery compartment.
This battery compartment is the most annoying thing I’ve EVER come across with any toy before – strike that – with ANY battery compartment before. OK so yes, it is simple, slide off the back, insert the batteries and hey presto the bullet will vibrate. But this is so poorly made that when the batteries are inserted in to the toy the back just constantly comes off and the batteries pop out. It was so infuriating, I tried holding the back on at first, but that was just uncomfortable and when I’d attempt to increase the speed of the bullet by pushing my finger up; that would make my palm move slightly – And yes that then made the battery compartment cover make a bid for freedom taking the batteries with it. Eventually I had to use tape just to keep the damn thing closed so I could test it.
So now, my battery compartment is taped shut reminding me of the TV remote in my grandparents’ house where they’d lost the back of the remote so they had to keep it shut using tape – I was able to turn it on and test out the speeds. The speed is decent, it’s not the best and it is certainly not the quietest, I felt like a motorbike was revving up in my bed on even the lowest setting – so it is definitely not something I’d be using when other people are in the house.
At the base of the dildo there is a small hole in which you put the bullet in, and in theory this will create the vibrations within the dildo. Or so I thought. I actually could hear the vibrator (I’m quite sure my neighbours heard it too – and my house isn’t even attached) but I didn’t feel anything at all, as in I couldn’t feel the vibrations through the glass, they didn’t make it feel like it was vibrating inside me at all. I let go of the dildo and left it inside my vagina and left the bullet going hoping I could feel something, but nope, not a single vibration could be felt within me – So that seemed like a huge waste of time. I tried to turn the dildo around as I thought maybe; just maybe I might be able to get these vibrations on my clitoris if the glass circle that held the bullet would be in a position to rest on it. This again didn’t happen; I wasn’t able to get that over my clitoris whilst it was still inside me. I could hold the top of the dildo over my clit to get the vibrations if I really wanted them, but what’s the point? I much prefer deep rumbly vibrations over loud buzzy vibrations any day.
The dildo itself is great for G-spot stimulation, although it isn’t as girthy as some of my other toys; it was still able to provide fantastic internal stimulation, but as a vibrator it seriously falls short. That’s the good thing about the dildo, you don’t have to use the vibrations with it, and you can completely remove the bullet from it.
I have another problem with the Icicles 35; I found the glass on this dildo to be not as robust as the other dildos in the Icicles range, whilst using it I banged it against the side table accidently and the handle came right off the top. I have banged other glass dildos; some have even rolled off my bed before and landed on a marble floor and never once have they had so much as a chip, but a small bang with this one and the handle came completely came off in my hand rendering the dildo useless.
And that was my experience with the Icicles 35 – I found the vibrating aspect annoying, and the dildo wasn’t much to be desired which is a shame. There are far better dildos within the Icicles range than this one.
